martini & dagger.

we finally had a chance to take a high resolution photograph of this painting by frank wolfe today. two different people who never had a chance to meet him but attended his second memorial open mic last thursday at steel city coffee house in phoenixville wanted it to take home with them. the compromise was for one person to have it and the other to receive a high resolution photograph of it in order to make a print of it later.

and the person who took the original painting home kindly paid a generous amount for it as a way to support frank, even now, and  almost all of the cost of the sound technician fee for the third memorial open mic in 2017. we as those who loved frank are completely thrilled with this, as it helps out so much financially.

while frank did not always title his paintings, we're glad to describe them in simple yet poignant words based on the objects and focuses within them. so for now, we'll call this martini & dagger.

introducing frank kelso wolfe and a tribute to his life, art, and lessons for us.

frank kelso wolfe left the carved out way of his life on this earth on october 7, 2014 after initially joining this world in 1969. as an artist of all kinds of measures, he has a lot to teach us, even now and into the future. his paintings, poems, comedy, and other approaches to the creation of varied kinds of art have lessons tucked into them from all different angles, if we slow down enough to pay attention and see the strong hints of heart-value in his work. and we're smarter to our bones when we do in fact slow down and see what we can notice.

this blog will feature scenes of his art, works by him, anything which people would like to submit and share about them, whether they knew him directly or learned about him after he died, and eye-ready moments of the annual memorial open mics which we host for him at steel city coffee house in phoenixvile each october. the second event happened a few days ago, which prompted the existence of this blog and its corresponding new facebook page, which you can find by searching frank kelso wolfe.

below are three videos:

1. a tribute to frank

2. footage of the first annual memorial open mic for him in 2015, and

3. pictures of him as well as his art.

feel free to pass this post along to anyone who you know may appreciate seeing this content or learning about frank in a newfound way. more videos will follow in future posts, especially once we get our footage from the 2016 memorial open mic fully online.

to share anything frank-oriented, or to be added to the email list for the third memorial open mic for frank in 2017, please email poetrywithjenniferhetrick at yahoo dot com. and thank you for taking the time in your likely ridiculously busy and overloaded life to visit here today. it would make frank jump up and down in giddy-as-hell excitement that he mattered to you in even this small-seeming way in your very full day.
